Dr. April Clay became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on the campus of California State University, Northridge on February 25, 1995 by way of Omega Kappa undergraduate chapter. Through her membership April has served in various positions on the chapter, state, regional and international level. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist who earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis on Educational Justice. 

Dr. Clay is the inaugural president of Delta Alpha Nu Zeta chapter where she serves as an ex-officio member of all chapter committees. April played an instrumental role in the chapter’s charter. Her service with the sorority includes her present role as Chair of the International Elections Committee, and immediate past secretary of the Inland Empire’s National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC-IE). She is the CEO and founder of Clay Counseling Solutions and Clay Counseling Foundation, a mental health corporation and charity. 

When is not serving the community through her sorority, you can find April serving in other capacities including as the chair of San Bernardino County’s Department of Behavioral Health Cultural Competence Advisory Committee, parliamentarian for the National Council for Negro Women (NCNW), board member and volunteer for the National Black Grads. She also enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with friends, family, her husband of 30 years and their children and their grandson.
